The Professional Recovery Network (PRN) was established by Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA) to provide assistance to pharmacy and dental professionals who are having personal problems that may harm their ability to practice in a safe and competent manner. These problems include emotional distress and substance abuse.
PRN's goal is help participants to get the assistance they need, and support their recovery so they can remain employed in their profession. As long as participants comply with the Recovery Support Agreement, their participation in the program is confidential.
The confidential 24-hour helpline number is 800-727-5152 (calls made after 5 p.m. will be returned the next business morning). An after-hours number is available in case of emergencies: 512-496-7247.
"Impaired pharmacists and other professionals face unique challenges in their journey into recovery and the return to the productive, fulfilling career they dreamed of while still school. If you or someone you know needs help, Texas Pharmacy Association’s Professional Recovery Network is here to help. Recovery does happen. The hardest part of the journey is the first step."
