Pharmacy Law Symposium
March 2010June 2010 & October 2010
This program is designed to assist pharmacists, pharmacy students, attorneys and other interested parties in understanding the laws and rules that affect the practice of pharmacy in Texas. The curriculum is aimed at providing pharmacy professionals with a better understanding of Texas and federal drug laws. Students & reciprocating pharmacists should take this program to prepare for the state pharmacy law exam.

Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery
July 2010September 2010

Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery is an innovative interactive training program that provides pharmacy professionals the skills necessary to become a primary source for vaccination information and administration. The program teaches the basics of immunology and focuses on practice implementation and legal/regulatory issues while providing hands-on injection training.

PRN Seminars
The Professional Recovery Network (PRN) was established by TPA to provide support and training to pharmacy and dental professionals. PRN classes present topics on drug and alcohol abuse and addiction. These interactive sessions will help participants better understand the issues and provide support for those affected by substance abuse problems.

Rxperts Leadership Institute
This weekend seminar is focused on developing the leadership skills of pharmacy professionals who have been out of school for 10 years or less. The learning opportunity is limited to 20 pharmacists nominated by their peers and is conducted by Texas business leaders, pharmacists and industry experts.

Texas Health Steps Online Provider Education
Health Steps CE is provided at no charge by the Texas Department of Health Servics and consists of self-paced, web-based training modules. Each module is divided into sections, with an evaluation component following each section. An online certificate of completion will be issued after a trainee successfully completes an entire module. These modules are also available in PowerPoint® versions for use in training conducted in classroom settings and as printed collateral materials.

Current CE classifications include Cultural Competence, Immunization and Pharmacy.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has a series of computer-based training opportunities for pharmacies to educate staff about Medicaid pharmacy benefits (particularly for children under 21) and how to get reimbursed.  This course is accredited by ACPE.
